I have been a loyal guest since its opening in 2003. That in itself says a lot. However, much has changed over the years. This hotel used to be the pinnacle of a boutique hotel. Beautiful decor, chocolates near your bed, an incredible breakfast included in your stay, bottled water as you leave the hotel, and soaps and lotions from Molton Brown. Sadly, no chocolates, no breakfast, no water, no Molton Brown products. All the extras that I loved are gone. Not sure what caused the decision to eliminate these lovely perks. Worst of all, the surrounding construction has limited the sunlight into the hotel casting some darkness on several parts of the hotel. What hasn't changed, is the impeccable service and the staff's willingness to help with any request.

A great hotel, central to the main sights - CN Tower, waterfront, theatre etc. Staff very good. Very pleasant room though view limited to more high-rise buildings. Good en-suite though shower only, no bath. Public areas pleasant to be in. Breakfast was a very acceptable continental; fruit, pastries, yoghurt and smoked meats. Dinner in the evening was also very good - restaurant staff very attentive. As others have noted major building work is going on directly opposite which is a bit of an eyesore and quite a bit of dust & noise. A great pity for the hotel's location. That said, once in the hotel they are no problem whatsoever. One problem which did arise was that the edge of the lift door on the ground floor is very sharp as I found to my cost with a badly cut arm. It quickly closed as I was walking through it. Whilst the staff were very attentive with wipes and bandages etc, I did notice that I wasn't asked to sign an accident record.... On the whole, very highly recommended.

A luxurious, affordable stay in downtown Toronto. Le Germain is a familiar brand - sleek, modern, slightly industrial vibe, great food, nice bar - but this location is like a secret treasure. Sure, Mercer street is torn up at the moment while they put in more hotels, but the location near the entertainment district, Queen West, walkable to the Eaton Centre (if you need to Christmas shop for example!) - fabulous Mexican restaurant (Il Milagro) across the street from the hotel. What's not to like? Gorgeously appointed bathroom (huge shower, well-appointed vanity area, lots of storage, the fluffiest robes ever!). Wood, steel, glass, subdued lighting, great minimalist furniture - comfy bed (a little too soft for me - soft beds seem to be the thing these days). Really attentive staff - you get all the luxury of Shangri-La (nearby) or Sutton Place (around the back), but much more peaceful. Affordable - to find a room like this in Toronto at under $500 a night is amazing. Also pet friendly!

Nice location within easy walking distance of waterfront, shopping, CN tower etc. Modern rooms, well equipped with a nice bathroom (no tub though). Continental breakfast was fine. Very comfortable bed with nice linen. Room (at the front of the building) was, however, very noisy with a constant ‘hum’ which made sleeping a little difficult, and there is major construction work going on directly opposite. Staff are great - very friendly and helpful.

Stayed for 5 nights to celebrate my wife's 50th birthday. I am a Canadian but have lived in Scotland for over 30 years, so it was a perfect opportunity to visit Toronto, cath up with some family and enjoy the sights. As others have mentioned, there is construction going on and no mention of that on Expedia website when we booked. Saying that we were never disturbed by any workers or noise. Check in was easy and all the staff we met were very pleasant and helpful. The room was large and designed with a dark, moody style - this helped with sleeping. The location is right in the heart of the entertainment district and pretty central to .oat things - CN Tower, Etc. Would happily stay at the hotel again and would recommend to anyone.
